SW 821 — Low-strength threadlocker

Ideal for vibration-prone applications. Ensures sealing and reliability without compromising maintenance.

General description:

SW 821 is a low-strength anaerobic threadlocker designed to safely lock threaded components that require frequent disassembly.

It is ideal for screws, bolts, nuts and fittings exposed to vibration, thermal excursions and aggressive chemicals.

It withstands oils, fuels, refrigerant fluids and high temperatures up to 150°C.

Used by Faiveley Transport for applications on components subject to regular maintenance, it ensures reliability without compromising removability.

SW 821 is ideal for:

  • Locking bolts, nuts and screws subject to frequent disassembly or adjustment.

  • Threaded components requiring periodic maintenance.

  • Pressure regulators, filters, control valves and similar railway systems.

Clean and degrease the surfaces with a suitable product. Apply SW 821 in an amount sufficient to completely fill the joint. Assemble the components and wait for polymerisation.

For disassembly, use conventional tools or heat to 150–250°C to facilitate removal.

Remove residues mechanically and complete cleaning with acetone. Avoid contact with sensitive thermoplastics.
