SW 824 — High-strength threadlocker for permanent locking
Locks studs and bolts irreversibly. Resistant to vibration, technical fluids and high temperatures.
General description:
SW 824 is a high-strength anaerobic threadlocker designed for the permanent locking of threaded joints such as screws, nuts, studs and metal fittings.
It can be used on all metals, in both clearance and interference fits, providing reliable retention under extreme conditions, resisting vibration, chemicals, fuels, refrigerants and wide thermal excursions.
The product is recommended by Faiveley Transport for applications on piston compressors and flanged pneumatic equipment, and is compliant with Trenitalia category 006 252.
SW 824 is recommended for:
Permanent locking of studs and bolts
Threaded joints subject to thermal or vibrational stress
Assemblies in compressors, pneumatic systems and railway machinery
Components exposed to oils, fuels, refrigerants and chemical agents
For non-metal couplings or plastic threads, a prior assessment by BBTS technical support is recommended.

Clean and degrease the surfaces thoroughly. Apply SW 824 until the joint is completely filled and assemble normally.
Handling time is about 10–20 minutes; functional cure is achieved in 1–3 hours.
To facilitate disassembly, heat the joint to 150–250°C.
Remove cured residues mechanically and finish with acetone.
