SW 825 — Oil-tolerant thread sealant

Locks and seals fittings even when oil-contaminated. High thermal and chemical resistance.

General description:

SW 825 is a medium-strength, oil-tolerant anaerobic sealant, ideal for threaded joints that may require future disassembly.

Designed for use even in the presence of oil traces, it is effective as both sealant and threadlocker on pneumatic and hydraulic fittings and metal joints.

The product resists vibration, corrosion, gas, fuels, brake fluids and chemical agents, maintaining locking properties up to +200°C (with brief peaks to +250°C).

Approved by Faiveley Transport for use on screw and piston compressors and included in Trenitalia category 006 256.

SW 825 is recommended for:

  • Pneumatic and hydraulic fittings on railway compressors

  • Oil-contaminated threads

  • Threaded couplings to be locked and sealed in a reversible manner

  • Systems subject to thermal shocks and vibration

Also suitable for fuels, engine oils, refrigerants, brake fluids and 50% water/glycol. For applications on plastics or paints, request an evaluation from BBTS technical support.

Thoroughly clean the surfaces. Apply SW 825 until the thread is completely filled. Assemble normally.

Disassembly can be facilitated by heating the joint to 150–250°C.

Remove cured residues mechanically and finish with acetone.

The product may damage paints and elastomers and is incompatible with some thermoplastics (risk of stress cracking).
